Christian Louboutin: Harvey Nichols

As soon as I found about this I made it my mission to be there! On Thursday 24th November Christian Louboutin  headed to Harvey Nichols in London to promote and sign his new book that marks 20 years since the opening of his first boutique. 

After much waiting and anticipation Monsieur Louboutin arrived just after 5pm while the room was buzzing with excited fans waiting for their chance to meet him. 

Looking dapper in his red suit he signed books and chatted away, so humble so sweet! 

The book is beyond beautiful, with a stunning leather fold out cover, gold trim pages and an intricate pop-up. Divided into six chapters the book starts with Louboutin's biography from his work with Yves Saint Laurent  to "20 years of design", highlighting his shoe creations through amazing still life photography. Its  perfect for any shoe lover!

Shoe-la-la!: Alicia Keys in Christian Louboutin Brodee Pumps

Alicia Keys hit the red carpet for the NYC premiere of the broad way play The Mountaintop, a fictional play that depicts how Martin Luther King spent his last night on the eve of his assassination. 

Anyway she accessorised her green blazer and black slim cut trousers with a pair of Christian Louboutin Daffodile Brodee pumps. 

These towering 6 inch pumps were designed to celebrate 20 years of Mr Louboutin's iconic designs, and we can all agree that his shoes have been more than memorable. If you're looking for some shoes to splurge on, these could be perfect... at a £1,495 price tag!

I love the shoes, but I don't think Alicia did them any justice with her outfit, it's just a bit blah...

New Crush: Bakers Shoes

My eyes lit up when I discovered this website! Bakers Shoes is an American online retailer with an amazing collection of shoes, they give you all the hottest trends and there's something for everybody to choose from.

They scream all sorts of YES to me! The blue wedges resemble the popular Guiseppe Zanotti shoe that I love so much, and are priced at about £60 ($95) which is a bargain for how fierce they are! Oh and don't get me started on those leopard print platform boots *pulls out church fan*. Shoe-la-la!: Beyonce in Walter Steiger Pumps

*Sneaks in and hopes no one notices I haven't blogged for so long*

Beyonce and her baby bump ran some errands around New York rocking these black Walter Steiger pumps.  

These suede platform pumps are complete with his signature 5.5" curved heel, and will set you back about £476 ($750). They are also available in purple... what do you think?

Christina Milian was spotted shopping in West Hollywood looking cute in a pair of Sam Edelman Marina pumps.

It's a great way to add a bit of chic to a laid back outfit. The suede ruby red shoes look so comfy and at £85.06, you can't go wrong! You can purchase them here 

2011 MTV Video Music Awards

The MTV Video Music Awards took place last night in Los Angeles, California. Although Queen Bey stole the show with her baby announcement, I was still checking for the ladies shoe game... heres how it went down.

Miss Kelly wore a pair of Christian Louboutin Lady Peep spiked pumps.

Singer Demi Lovato rocked a pair of Christian Louboutin Maggie Chain-Toe platform pumps. I am in love with these!

Lil Mama who managed to resist crashing Jay Z's performance this year wore Jeffrey Campbell Rockin leather wedge booties. Like the shoes but i'm not sure they go with the dress much. 

Actress Maria Menuonos wore the Guiseppe Zanotti mirror cuff sandals.

Colombiana star Zoe Saldana wore these cute Balenciaga snake skin heels. 

Mark Fast designs shoes for Aldo

I am so excited to hear that fashion designer Mark Fast has teamed up with Aldo to bring us a new collection of shoes and heres a sneak peak of his collaboration.

The "Fringe Sandal" incorporates Mark's love for sultry knits that you see in a lot of his womenswear designs that the likes of Ciara and Nicki Minaj are rocking.

We're unsure on when the collection will be debuted but Mark has said "This collaboration has given me the opportunity to work with new shoe technology and resources. We are having a great time working together and the Aldo team have been quite inspiring in their innovations. We have a great deal of creative synergy. It's nice to be tied to my roots again with a Canadian enterprise! The collection is abut sexy, strong, fierce African fabulousness!"

It's my Birthday!

Well it was a few days ago and I celebrated it by throwing a joint party with one of my close friends. Of course this also meant new birthday shoes!....

POW! I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. They are from Kurt Geiger and as you can see they resemble the Guiseppe Zanotti wedges.. which is why I love them! Here are a few more pictures from the night...

Shoe-la-la!: Kelly Rowland in Lanvin wedges

Our favourite shoe lover Kelly Rowland was out and about in New York yesterday promoting her new album and sporting these gorgeous Lanvin puzzle peep toe wedges.

They were designed by Alber Elbaz at Lanvin for the Spring/ Summer 2011 collection, and retail at $1120 (approx £685). You guys know how much I love my wedges and these are just beautiful! they are cutesy and feminine, and Kelly wears them well with her laid back look... i definitely would!

Throwback Video : Christian Louboutin Interview

I found this throwback video of an interview with our favourite shoe designer.. Monsieur Christian Louboutin. 

In this exclusive interview with Colin McDowell for Net a Porter, Christian explains that he sees himself as a doctor, because shoes are a bit of an addiction.. I hear that! 

He also mentions that women are more obsessed with shoes now and the heels are getting higher and higher, he blames himself for this phenomenon and does not apologise! I love that he thinks carefully about a woman's silhouette when designing his shoes. Check it out...

Mystery Shoe of the Week: Solved!

Last week I showed you this mystery shoe....

Consider the mystery solved! These Aztec print wedges are by Givenchy from the Spring/ Summer 2010 collection, I can't believe I slept on these!... they also come in a black and white colour.

They are £990 ($1600) a pair *ouch*, but as per usual I found an alternative. They are by Jeffrey Campbell, he imitates the same bold print but opted for a modest wedge with added studs, they are definitely  more gentle on your pocket at about £105 ($169).

I personally prefer the sky high platforms that Givenchy has to offer but do like the detailling on the Jeffrey Campbell heel, and unlike the Givenchys' these are still available.... so buy them here . MYSTERY SOLVED!



eBay VS Kurt Geiger

So I was browsing through the Kurt Geiger website, as you do and came across this picture of a model sporting these amazing wedges (I'll stop the wedge talk for a while after this post... well I'll try!)

With a 5.5 inch heel, chunky wedge and ankle strap, these babies are spot on the colour blocking trend. So I scoured the website looking for them only to find that they were sold out (womp womp). With a little more digging I found a very good copy cat version on eBay!

Can you tell the difference? Now I'm not the biggest fan of replica's, but at £29.99 you really can't go wrong, of course you'll be sacrificing genuine suede for faux suede. Get these eBay wedges here

Shoe-la-la!: J- Hud in Loubou wedges

Jennifer Hudson was spotted out and about in Manhattan, getting ready for her appearence on The Late Show with David Letterman.

She wore Christian Louboutin's Super Dombasle cork wedges. It seems like wedges are a trending topic on here!

After some digging around I found out that Steve Madden does a very good and much more affordable version of the wedge at around £96 ($158), and he adds his own little bit of pizazz!

Kelly Rowland X Factor Looks

Did I mention that I heart Kelly Rowland!? She's still doing her X Factor rounds and STILL looking good.

She wore a pretty white lace dress, with a gold mirrored belt, accompanied by one of my favourite designers... yep Mr Zanotti!

Then she changed into a mustard Moschino blazer, printed t-shirt and black skirt for this smart casual look. Teamed with these beautiful Alexander McQueen Samurai Scrimshaw Scale sandals, I love the detailing on the heels.

I found this picture of an amazing pair yellow Aztec type print, tie up wedges. I have no idea where they're from or who designed them, but i definitely need to know!
